Hello Everyone,
I am still fighting my insurance company, Blue Cross of California, and would like to find the cost of a 2-level lumbar spinal fusion. I already had my 2-level ADR surgery and would like to prove that spinal fusion is more expensive. I would really appreciate any information pertaining to the costs of spinal fusion. I know hospital fees vary, but in general it is more expensive than ADR surgery. Thank you! Cali310 |

The attached article reports a study showing that total disc replacement (TDR) cost significantly less than fusion for patients with 1-level disc degeneration level and about the same as fusion for those with 2-level degeneration. Hope this helps!

Hi April,
Thank you very much for the article, I will definitely use it in my hearing. I hope it helps and can't understand why they insist on paying for a fusion! Cali |
