I received an email from a new friend who is a dental hygienist, so I'll share some of this with you -- it looks like a smart approach that might help many patients:
"...I wanted to ask you if you've ever encountered people who do the body work "Alexander Technique" for their back problems? It's something I've been doing since 1999. It's changed my life and has allowed me to practice dental hygiene without back pain. I learned of it when I was living in Boston, and studied with Betsy Polatin in Brookline (she taught it at BU as well as privately). When you get an extra minute check out the link The Complete Guide to the Alexander Technique as it may be worth recommending to other spine patients seeking pain relief..."
