Default Difference between open and mis tlif...

I just came back from another consultation and its made my decision making process more confusing. I asked the doctor about the mis tlif and it seems a lot of surgeons I speak are not in favor of the idea. Has anyone else had this experience? Also, has anyone heard that the MIS approach requires less muscle cutting preventing trauma to the important muscles in the back possibly preventing any adjacent degeneration?

The one I spoke to who does the MIS TLIF says there is less trauma to the muscles.

I won't know though, b/c Aetna won't pay for fusion. I'm almost certainly going to get an M6L in Spain.
