My mother-in-law just called me from Phoenix and read an article to me that was in the paper there.
It's from the Lordex Spine Center. They say they have an 86% success rate in relieving back pain (and the website says that back surgery only has a 50% success rate). It explains on the website what there process is and how you should try it first, and that surgery should be the very last thing you rush into. I'm so frustrated and confused! My doctor has scheduled me for May 10 (ADR) and I'm not sure if I should do it or try something like this Lordex thing first? Anyone else tried it or heard about it? I'm a bit leary of it just because it's run by a chiropractor. I tried that already and it never really helped me. Can you guys/gals read through the website and tell me what you think of it? Is it basically doing the same thing that physical therapy does? |

To me, my read is that Lordex is pretty good at marketing. They offer spine decompression (traction) and core strengthening. And thats a good alternative to surgery, for sure.
I quickly checked out http://www.lordex.com/program.htm and read their stuff. The ideas are not novel or new here, just how they package and present them by licensing the program throughout the U.S. To get a better sense as to how spinal decompression (traction, inversion, etc.) may help you, check out this previous topic and what members had to say about it. Theres a lot there, but if you take the time to read each of them it will really help you: http://www.adrsupport.org/private-cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cg...;f=1;t=001109#000000

Thank You for checking that out for me.
I'm instantly leary as soon as I see a chiropractor involved. I call them milk men...they always want you to come back, come back, $$$$$ The last one I went to told me that I wouldn't live to be a "ripe old age" unless I let him fix the curve in my neck? My family doctor thought that was amusing. Thanks for the links too...I will read through those now |

Vicki,
Most chiros get a bad wrap. I've seen some that were less than great, but they have a difficult job....the spine and nervous system is quite complex. My recent visits to my chiro have really helped me considerably! Any way, good luck with your next steps!
