Default Bad backs driving bad hips?

Hi. Am being evaluated by ortho surgeon b/c my left hip has been having unbearable pain at times. I guess that this is b/c since 2002, I've been unconsciously favoring this side as the right side/foot has radicular pain and has less musculature (quads, lower legs) than the left.

So, it makes sense that after these years the displacement has put undue pressure on the "good side" hip.

Is my hypothesis sorta a "given" by people in the know or am I off-base or missing numerous caveats.

I sure hope that I don't have avascular necrosis (getting an MRI) from taking high dose steroids over the summer (no, not for the Mr. America contest).

Y'all be well. ~ ans

Default I know the the hip pain driver but there's other pains

Well, after having an S-I joint injection, the excruciating hip pain is gone. What a blessing as I never responded to lumbar epidurals.

I hope it lasts a while b/c I have a feeling that nobody likes to mess with the S-I joint (correct) if it causes pain.

Still, there is intense pain on my knees, lower legs, and it hurts my left leg (even kneecap) & at the pelvic insert and knees and we'll have to figure out what that is about. Maybe the new MRI will be revealing, nerve testing, or maybe it's piriformis syndrome (I accentuated the pain by a piriformis stretch; can this be helped by PT or ablation?). So, still need Vicodin along with Avinza and Celebrex despite my doc wanting me off Vicodin.

I will peruse the forums for these types of pain drivers as this onset was sudden and is new to me.

Chow, ans
