Hi all,

Biacuplasty, simular however new and improved from the IDET is suggested to me, a last ditch effort for pain control prior to having an ADR or Fusion.

Would appreciate anyone's experience or knowledge - possitive or negative

Thanks.

Thanks for asking and jogging my memory. We have talked about this procedure before, but another name was used to describe it…here are a few reference links:

Dede, how bad is your spinal disc? Is the annulus still relatively intact? It sounds like its already herniated by your signature...do you know how badly it is torn?

Also, see this FAQ and diagram of herniation in the link:

For what it's worth.

This is a variation on thermal annuloplasty, and that's always seemed a somewhat agressive approach to me--denaturing tissue with heat. IDET proved disappointing, and so did a visualized endoscopic version invented by Yeung.

Just my thoughts. Are you a good candidate for ADR?

Hi, I had this done about a week ago. I had a Lvl 4 tear at L3-4. Having to wear a brace for 6-8 weeks. So far I'm having upper left leg pain and deep knee pain with some numbness above the knee area. I go back to the Dr. on Friday.

Having the surgery in a week. Any idea why you are not supposed to sit during recovery? Also, has the pain subsided or is it becoming chronic?

Sitting puts the most pressure on the discs and they need time to heal. I was only supposed to sit for the bathroom and to eat meals. Stand, walk or lay down the rest of the time for about the first month or so.
