Hey there,
I've got bone spurs pressing on spianl cord at C5-6 level and have received my 2nd cortisone shot. It really reduced the numbness and tingling but started coming back at 1 month. Anyway, the 1st time I had the injection, I got terribly sick with a migraine and vomiting for 30 hours after. I figured it was the delauted they gave me for sedation. This time I told them to give me something different, however, same thing happend. It's the next day, some I'm much better, but I am flushed on face and chest. Has anyone had adverse reactions to their sedation or could this be related to the cortisone. PS I am prone to migraines and the medication didn't help this time. Thank you, TamiJ |

It sounds like you are having problems with the opiates. Some people react this way to the really strong stuff which Dilaudid is. It is a very potent pain medication. See if they can use something non-narcotic in the future.
Hang in there. Terry Newton

The cortisone definitely can leave your face, chest flushed for a few days after injection. That is a side effect for sure.
