Hi
I am a 47 year old woman who had bad back pain for some time, but just got on with it, then because I kept having high esr, crp which they could not find any reason for they gave me a bone scan which came back high uptake in the L2 area this was in 2007. With the back pain getting worse and going down my left leg my GP sent me to the back doctor, they decided to give me an Mri which game back a few weeks ago and with hearing nothing I went to my GP and got a copy of the Mri report. I have looked on the web for some information and even been on other forums asking for information on what I have in simple terms, what I should ask the doctor if they do call me back, or that it is nothing at all, just old age creeping on. Here is part of it :- There is marked loss of the normal lumbar lordosis with disc dehydration at the L2/3 level, modic end plate change and disc herniation. At the L2/3 level there is indeed a broad based disc which causes anterior impression of the theca, no compression of the exiting root foramina. If I have written in the wrong place I am sorry. Thanks |

Star, do you still have high CRP and ESR? These in part could indicate a chronic inflammatory disease - which may or may not relate to your back pain.

Hi Harrison,
I still have a high esr, crp but not as high as it was, which I have had about 6 years which I was given antibiotics and they did nothing to reduce it, my GP sent me to see a doctor and because the esr and crp was so high they gave me a bone scan, plus loads of blood tests, I was told I had fibromylgia that was 2007, plus a high uptake in the L2 area of my back. I do have pain all over my body, including the pain in my back and down my left leg. With the pain in my back getting worse my GP sent me to see the back doctor and thats when they decided to give me an Mri, this was last year. Thanks |

Star, when you can, please add a signature (access the user control panel in the upper left, see User CP).
You may already know this, but you would be disqualified from ADR with the condition(s) you described. See: ADR Risks, Complications, Disqualifications There is a still much debate about disqualifying conditions, but read these disqualifiers carefully -- knowing that will vary from doctor to doctor and mfr to mfr. We can talk next week if you'd like. BTW, can you talk a bit more about the "high uptake in the L2 area?"
