Hey Gil,

I am currently on 60mg of Cymbalta for its neuropathic indication. It is usually standard practice to start on a lower dose, 30mg per day, for a couple of weeks. Then, patients can start taking 60mg a day.

I would speak with your doctor to see how he wants you to titrate up on cymbalta.

FYI... it takes 4-6 weeks for the medication to start working as it is a SNRI (Serotonin and Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor).

Good luck,

Gil:

I tried Cymbalta and had huge issues with it. I became so sleepy I could hardly keep my head up. I also had to force myself to eat. It stripped away my entire appetite and I lost weight like it was going out of style. I could not get past the side effects to see if it worked or not.

If you experience any side effects make sure you talk them over with your doctor. Sometimes you have to force yourself to go beyond the side effects to see if the benefits outweigh the negatives.

Hang in there. I sent you a PM also.
