Default dekompressor discectomy....

Can anyone tell me if the disc actually heals after this proceedure? It would seem to me that it would change the height of the disc, and compress it more? Also is this a better option than a micro discectomy?

Default Hey there...

It would seem that you are asking about the trademarked system from Stryker, given the spelling? In case you didn't see the brochure:

Stryker Dekompressor disc removal system for Percutaneous Discectomies (Disc Decompression) | Stryker Interventional Spine

See the operative tech guide, it has some succinct verbiage and illustrations. This PDF may or may not address your other questions:

Doesn't sound too prosperous yet. I am just at whits end, and my Dr. is convinced that it is facet joints, and wants to do Radiofrequency Rhizotomy or burning of the nerves. I am not sure why. The pain seems to be radiating in the legs, and doesn't look like those nerves run to the legs. I am a bit confused. I am almost certain it is a disc problem. I am going nuts.

Perhaps it is possible that you could both be right? What does your doc and your radiology report say about the condition of your facets?

PS: Pls add a signature soon, to help us help you. Thanks.
