I have read alot of information supporting discograms, but it all comes from orthopods. I had one done in 6-05. It gave me discitis, which was so unbelievably painful that they put me in a coma for 10 days. I remained in the hospital for 5 weeks, almost dying 3 times. Hindsight is always 20/20, I wish I had never had it done. People told me not to, but my Dr. would not consider me for surgery until I had it, so I reluctantly did. If the Neuro's and the Orthopod's would work together they would not have to do this test...which is barbaric! This procedure can also add to your exsisting problem and speed up the damage already there...think about it..! This procedure might be able to confirm what they already know or can find out by other means..like consulting with a Neurosurgeon. Do not let a Neuro do surgery on yor back though, just get their input. Talking to them does not hurt but discograms do! I am already in enough pain how about you? It is taken me over 2 years to mostly recover from all of the effects of this "accident".I am now scheduled for a fusion and a disc replacement in 12-07.

I could not stand up for 3 hours after the discogram. The worst pain I have ever been in. Took 2 days to recover.
