Was curious if anyone has a particuarly stretching/strengthening program they have successfully used for LBP and disc issues? Once upon a time (pre-back problems) I used to be very active in core strengthening, doing several hundred (proper form) crunches each day. Since surgery (2+ years ago), I've become a bit gunshy about things that would exacerbate my situation. Unfortuantely, while my hesistance was probably warranted initially, I never really pushed beyond my comfort zone and am now reaping the frustration (as most things seem to set off pain).
I keep hearing folks rave about yoga and pilates, but am not sure if either are going to do more harm than good (particular the former). While I'm sure the issue has likely been discussed ad neauseum, being new I figured I'd take the chance to refresh the topic. Thanks! Alan |
