Default Has anyone had adjacent level ADR?

My original C5/C6 ADR Prodisc did not cause adjacent segment failure. I have had these symptoms all along. You see, I had spinal cord displacement and disfigurement. I was convinced that getting C5/C6 off the spinal cord should do the trick. Since I was having right foot problems as well, with no lumbar problems evident, I thought that it was the spinal cord. The C7 weakness that I had, my therapist contributed to spinal cord involvement. My doctors just shrugged their shoulders and were going to fuse C5/C6. I did not understand that a disc that looks fine on the MRI could be bad and causing radiating symptoms. Now I now better. I should have had a discogram to be sure. If it had been done then, I believe I would have had both levels done at once.

3 surgeons agree - I need ADR C6/C7 below my current ADR Prodisc C5/C6.

So my question - Has anyone had a second level (adjacent level) done in a second surgery? Do I have any special concerns?

July 31, 2006 Surgery successfully completed Prodisc-C C5/C6 on in Straubing, Germany by Dr. Bertagnoli. Able to work full time since 1 month post op, but some pain remains.
10/2008 3 surgeons confirm C6/C7 needs ADR and always has.
Has anyone had a second ADR surgery on an adjacent level?

I had four levels done at one time to avoid going through what you are going through right now. It was a very aggressive surgery and, not for the faint of heart. I had to make sure I was in great physical conditioning which worked to my advantage.

If you need further assistance please ask away. This is exactly why many of us are here is to help each other out.

Hang in there.
