Hi Gem
I have some nerve related symptoms as well. Mostly in the feet tho some deep in the thigh and butocks. The feet tingling comes when I stretch, sitting with my back straight, like against a wall, and my legs straight out, or in my office chairs with my feet up. I also get some tingling when on excercise machines. When excercising my feet get smokin hot, my feet rarely sweat since surgery, they tingle and get a little numb. It all usually passes fairly quickly, on a few occaisons I have used meds. My hope is they will pass with time as things get used to their new positions. Scott

Gem -
Sitting causes pain but it helps if I keep my back straight, or even arched back. Also, I have a seat cushion with the little "u" cut out of it so my tailbone has no pressure. I had a discogram at the only possible disk that could cause this pain and it was completely negative. I have found that typing is the worst for my leg pain. Believe it or not, this is absolutely true. But I also know that it is because I am holding the weight of my arms out in front of my body. That requires the muscles of my low back to contract to support the weight (like the base of a crane). This is what causes the nerve pain. Either that or the muscles in my butt co-contracting. |

Hi gem,
it still fairly early days and this sounds like General nerve pain just settling down. If I were in your shoes I would just try the medication and hope that resolves matters, I certainly would not go rushing into injections or anything like that. I'm sure it will resolve itself in the not too distant future. If I stand in one place without moving my feet for over half an hour then I start and get back pain creeping up so it's not unusual. Best, Alastair

Gem,
I'm guessing your symtoms will go away since you've done so nicely up to 7 months. One thing I've found that helps me with a "sitting" computer station since I have great trouble with regular seating is to sit on an exercise ball that is not quite as firmly pumped up as it should be. It's so comfy and I can move it around with my bumm to relieve an "uncomfortable ache or pain"... Best wishes for clearing up of pain, relief relief relief~ |
