A friend sent me this link recently and I think it has some direct bearing on those of us routinely undergoing discography, discectomy and fusion and those of us (perhaps too blindly) following medical professionals down the rabbit hole rather than educating ourselves about our disease and possible outcomes.

I recommend also reading the link to this doctor's biography. Knowing the source of any information is just as important as the information itself.

At 61 years, no longer qualifying for trials due to my age (chronological, not physical or mental).

2009 - Working on improving bone density or getting rich so I can go to Germany, where medicine and insurance have gone beyond the Stone Age.

Very enlightening Rein, yet disappointing to many isn't it? I think that 'Rabbit Hole' You refer to is just that thought, the very thought of being pain free, the walk in the park, tossing that baseball maybe? If I was told by a doctor that a surgery would recreate my life to where I could walk normal again or bend over, possibly work again? I think I would be first in line too - After reading this article, it is scary.
