Been there and done that, all of that except getting ADR which I have been convinced could be an answer for my trial that I have been facing physically.
I have been through the gammet for 11 years. Any good docs that can help manage pain in the area until I can figure out what is NEXT, dare I say 'next' I found a GREAT dr. at Swedish Med Cntr but they will NOT work with L&I, at all. Thank you very much

Lammie, if the doctor is great, can you find a way to work with him? Some patients are lucky to find ANY pain management doc that helps them manage their pain -- let alone the costs. And BTW, I believe you, but why is this particular doc "great?"
As a reminder, through my research a while back, I also happened upon the Swedish Med Center. It seems like they've been successful in executing a strategic effort to recruit med professionals that can help all kinds of patients with various spinal health problems. That's why I engaged one of these docs for a Q & A: Dr. Bowen on Transverse Myelitis Dr. Bowen on Transverse Myelitis So, back to you: have you already rotated through different classes of anti-inflammatories? Tell us more about the great doc?!

Thanks Harrison,
So...The reason I say I cannot go see him, is L&I has a wrap on me. 1) Swedish cannot and will not work with patients that are injured workers, with open L&I Claims. 2) I cannot go to see him on my own, because the claim is open. I can explain more and possibly you, or someone that reads this can help teach me how to work around. It has been eleven years an running so if I found that I 'could' have been doing something about this earlier, I certainly would kick myself and hard. I found Dr. Thomas Yang / and Dr. Ryder Guinn on referral by a friend here. I went to Yang ONE TIME and he was not only a great listener, but a wonderful teacher and had compassion. That is HUGE as most of you know. He treated me one time and the second time back he informed me, and he stated - regretably - "I will not be able to treat you as long as you have the claim open with the state of Washington" He was open and frank, I teared up and cried, I sound like a baby, but I wanted him SO bad that it was ONE MORE CLOSED DOOR and he knew it. I later, about 2 yrs later, went back to work and was well enough that the claim had closed. I have Aetna BC BS, and he was wonderful. He was aggressively engaged in my health. I say he was great because he was the first Doc that spent a long time in the room with me (a) and B...he attacked the treatment plan, i.e. injections, tests, recommendations. I had gone SEVEN years, and no one had EVER offered to perform an EMG, it was because of that very EMG that the doc was able to offer a Laminectomy. (Which I am not so sure did anything argh!) So, long story longer...I just do not know of a way to get treated at Swedish Medical center unless I allow the claim to close. (Which I 'can' do, I am very unhealthy, but I have 'been here' before...) I am scared this time, scared enough that I know I have to get myself, force myself back to work if I can, fight for my life and get the regular insurance to help me out! I left the company that I work for, for a year and a half because of pain. I paid their cobra because they covered that Laminectomy %100 and will do it again if I need to. Thanks for a listening ear and eye here... ![]() Nice link that you posted, they are wonderful there, agreed...........wish I could go there
