Hi all

I'm now 2 days post discogram & am still in absolute agony Is this usual & if so how long can I expect it to last?

I'm eating painkillers like sweets with very little effect & every movement is agony I'm still waiting for Mr Lam to call me with the results.

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Thanks Chuck, think I'm just impatient!!

When you say I know it's positive, do you mean because of the pain? Sorry if I sound a bit dim, I blame it on all the painkillers!!

*Alistair, thanks for your help, I've pm'd you back

All the best

well if you have pain from the test it means postitive.
heheh i just had PT and im blaming my pain killers also for some reason they dont seem to be working on all that pain, such a small girl could inflick.
did you get pain durning the test?
if so they the test is postive.
chuck
p/s think of it as a stepping stone the worst of it is over.
even the surgery i dont think is as bad as a discogram. now the distraction pain on the other hand is pretty non forgiving.

Hi Chuck

I was under sedation when I had the discogram, they brought me round for the dye & I remember feeling an excrutiating painful pressure & think I may have yelled out & then that's it till I woke up in the Recovery Room!

As Alistair has said on pm, also another friend, with having Fibro it maybe that that has hightened my pain levels? I know at the hospital the nurse was concerned about my pain & offered to have me admitted but as we live a long way from the hospital, needed to get home to dogs plus hubby had to be back at work yesterday I declined.

I think I feel a bit better now knowing that it's fairly usual to have pain for a few days as I hadn't realised

I've taken some more Tramadol & put a heat wrap on my back plus given into the pain & come upto bed where I can get a bit more comfy ~ I'm so glad to have bought my laptop!!

Thanks again ~ goodness help us all when I go for my surgery lol!!

Well I've got my results!! Mr Lam phoned me earlier, he asked how I was & I told him that I've been in agony & he said he was really pleased in the nicest possible way!! Apparently, they didn't get a single response from me on the table! I explained the painful pressure etc & again he was pleased & thinks that maybe I had too much sedation along with delayed reactions which can sometimes happen.

Anyway, I'm booked in for my surgery on 15th November!! I'm sure I'll drive some of you mad between now & then with worrying & asking silly questions lol!!

All the best

Lyndsay

The FAQs is the place to be Lyndsay -- -- -- I'm glad you got a good response from Mr Lam, and I'm sure your surgery will be a great success
best,
