Default Pain in incision area (cervical)

I'm 14 months post op and doing well. My question is, do any of the rest of you who have had cervical disc surgery "cramp like" pains in your throat/incision area? I guess I started noticing it a few months ago, its seems to happen most if I am trying to stretch, but sometimes, just randomly. The best way I can describe the pain is cramp-like and it does help to massage the area when it happens.

anyone else?

Wink Diagnostic Massage Time

Hey Kez,

Sorry for the late reply. I don’t know if this pithy idea helps, but just because no one responded to your post, it does not mean that some cervie patients have not had the same experience as you. Can you discern if the pain originates in the deep muscles? Or if it might be more surface-like; e.g, myofascial?

If you can swing the bucks, treat yourself to a good massage therapist and see what kind of helpful feedback they may be able to provide. The good ones can tell you the exact muscles (assuming that’s the case) may be knotted. E.g., in your case, discerning between the SCM, inner/middle/outer scalenes, platysma or the many others.

Time to treat yourself with some neck love!!!
