Default Pain Medicine that does not make you tired?

Just wondering if anyone has found a prescription pain medicine that doesnt make you tired? I am on Percocet until my surgery Sept 9th (posterior cervical fusion c5-c6 over top of prodisc-c c5-c6) but I am only able to take it at night. I dont want anymore anti-inflammatory muscle relaxers I have 2 years worth of half used bottles that did not help with the pain.

Default Meds

Sissy,

Is the tylenol possibly making you tired? I think no matter what, you will get drowsy on almost any type of pain med...But I am on Oxycodone/Roxicodone 5mg pills. They have no filler such as tylenol or aspirin, etc... Just wondering if the tylenol is the catalyst which is making you so tired?

Just don't let them give you Methadone. Your whole life will revolve around sleep. I could sleep for 3 days straight on Methadone. HATE IT.

I am also on Lunesta as well. So, when I take the two together to fall asleep at night. I definitely get some deep sleep...so when I awake I am pretty much ready to go in the a.m.

Just some thoughts, let me know what you think?

Pre-surgery, and after the initial severe pain of surgery subsided, I have taken Lortab (aka Vicodin). It's got tylenol in it but it's a lot less sleep-inducing than Percocet.
