The FDA on July 13, 2005 recalled Palladone.

From another site, I replied to Dano about his post about the palladone recall:

"Dano, thanks for the heads up. I have been taking Palladone for the last four months and filled a prescription two days ago. Seems alcohol and palladone are a potentially deadly combination. Even a beer could trigger high doses of morphine being rapidly released into your system. Although I'm not too concern since I don't chase my morning once daily dose with a Bud, I do from time to time have a drink in the evening. According to the FDA, even a beer later in the day can wash off the time release mechanism of the existing medication and increase the percentage of morphine dramatically throughout your system. The FDA recommends that all patients taking Palladone contact their doctor immediately. Thanks again."

Sure is nice to have sites like this to get information out quickly. I don't get out to parties much anymore but this weekend we have a graduation celebration and a cocktail or two were definitely on the menu. I will be much more careful after reading Dano's posting of the FDA palladone recall.

Todd,

Good to know. I did take Palladone, but went off because I did not like it. But that is scarey - do you have the actual article?

Thanks.
