Attached find the first study that I know of about using BMP for ACDF from Neurosurg Focus 16 (3):Article 6, 2004.

Because of file size upload restrictions, you will have to remove the ".pdf" from the end of this file, unzip it, and view the pdf file inside. Sorry.
