Default retrolisthesis above adr

I had a Prestige II implanted at C5/6 about one month ago, and all seems to be going well so far.

Prior to the surgery I was diagnosed with a 2mm retrolisthesis in flexion/extension at c4/5. My surgeon was not concerned about the retrolisthesis since it was only 2mm, and there wasn't any other signs of degeneration at that level. The last couple of days I can't stop thinking that I should of had a fusion or TDR done at that level since I have a slight amount of instability already. I hate the thought of having another cervical surgery. To make matters worse the Prestige II doesn't leave much room for adjacent level ADR or fusion, however, another person on this board mentioned that a Prodisc-c can be placed above the Prestige if needed. I hope that the Prestige below it doesn't make the retrolisthesis get worse.

I also was wondering if restolisthesis can be reversed, and if it is possible that extreme muscle spasms can cause it temporarily. When I had the x-rays done my neck muscles were in spasms, and I had a difficult time moving my head.

Am I stressing out about nothing? Unfortunately, I don't have an appointment to see the surgeon again for 2 weeks. I guess I need to try to relax until I can get some answers. After all what's done is done.

Singletracker, why worry now if you are feeling OK? As I jokingly say sometimes to friends: "let's jump off that bridge when we get to it..."

I am curious about the specific contraindication for that particular disc, now that you mention it. You may recall that the published, specific contraindications are often hard to find, which is why I started the first topic in this forum.

Enjoy your time of healing. Peace and pain-free days to you in all the days ahead!

You're right. I guess it's in my nature to worry some times though. My neck's been sore lately, but I think it's because I've increased my activity level and my muscles are tightening up.

I'll check out the contraindications thread, and try to just chill and roll with it. It is what is.

Thanks
