Post Urgent for Synthes Fusion Patients

Patients who have received Synthes implants, please read this entire topic carefully:

FDA says recalled Synthes devices are health hazard

The recall involves part numbers 04.808.001-011, Synex II Central Body, Titanium (all lots).

Thank you LAC, for posting this! If people could call, research, dig into this and post here it would be appreciated!

Harrison,
Could you please clarify what this has to do with ProDisc? My cursory research shows that the recalled device is the Synex II which is a vertebral body replacement device that might be used in fusions.

Thanks!

You are correct -- here's a start:

http://us.synthes.com/Products/Spine...nex+System.htm

http://www.synthes.com/html/Anterior...on.7178.0.html

"...Synex: Expandable vertebral body replacement device with ratchet mechanism. The main body and fillable endplates provide plenty of space for bone graft placemen..."

Default Pro Disc

Is this the Pro-Disc L or any part of it? Could explain why all of mine sank. Can you help me understand this?

No, it's not the ProDisc -- it's a fusion-related device.
