Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and in need of info on the X-Stop procedure. I didn't find much so far and it was mostly dated in 2005.

Has anyone out there had the X-Stop procedure for LSS and what was your outcome? Also, has anyone had any experience with the Northern California Spine Institute and/or Dr. Grant?

Thanks,
Paul

Welcome to our community. There may be a just few here that have received the implant under trial. You may have seen this from the mfr’s web site, their X-Stop solution for spinal stenosis:

…Approximately half of the patients who received the X STOP device in this two-year research study experienced a degree of pain relief and ability to increase their activity levels that was sufficient to be considered a successful outcome at two years after the surgery. The clinical benefit beyond two years has not been measured…

I like the way St. Francis has presented information on their web site – very clear and concise! E.g., explaining the procedure, post-op care, etc. These folks really get it!

Your observation of 2005 may be true, but I’d be surprised if anything has changed since then. But here’s a recent newsworthy items that may interest you:

Stopping back pain (North Carolina)

I found a number of search results on their recent IPO, which would raise $80M+, but most links were “not found.” But they did register their S-1 with the SEC.

Do you have a doctor already -- or is it Dr. Grant? If not, use their site at http://www.sfmt.com/sfmtus/patientinfo.asp
