Just wanted to share with all that yesterday was 1 year since I had 3 level ADR with Dr. Bertagnoli. I spent the day working around the house....raking, mowing, climbing 20ft ladder and painting windows. All things I could have never done prior without much pain. In the last 2 weeks I have also laid ceramic tile in 2 bathrooms, plumbed 2 sinks, 2 commodes, and crawled on my knees painting baseboards more than any man should ever have to!!
The cool thing is being able to get up out of bed the next morning and NOT having that "truck ran over me" feeling! Just being able to get up and feel like working another day is a blessing.
I only share these things to just give my experience and outcome. I really hurt and feel bad for those posts that have had surgery and are still waiting to have some relief. I can only imagine the dissapointment. For this reason, I hesitate in posting such good results. But please know that it is only with much humility and thankfulness that I was one of the success stories.
My wife and I have been recalling the trip to Bogen , surgery and the awesome medical help we received.
I would like to thank Harrison for this board and his personal calls early on. Thanks for Mark M. for his advice and services. Thanks to others who responded to emails from me when I was searching desperately for information.
The little things that are better(I know all you spineys can relate):
1. being able to bend over from a chair or even standing and tie your shoes.
2. able to bend over sink and brush teeth.
3. being able to squat and pick something up
4. being able to get out of a car with out pain.

I won't bore you with any more. Suffice it to say I am doing excellent and just wanted to report the good news. I am about to go take an ibuprohen, not for my back, but for the rib I broke falling off my sons dirt bike!! We'll talk about that later.

Way to go, Mark! Glad you are enjoying your new chapter! But hey -- stay off the dirt bike for a while, eh?!

Mark,

This is awesome news! We are doing some renovations at our place--I think you may need to plan a trip to Philly to help me install our new bathroom.
