Hello everybody
Here is my latest update: My ADR surgeon was Emil Popovic in Perth West Australia, I think i am doing OK, but i usually am quite hard on myself when it comes to injuries and bodily damage. At the present moment the only thing holding me back (i think) is a persistent deep, dull and somewhat annoying ache in my right buttock and slightly down to my calf(this can be quite uncomfortable) This is present in my left buttock but to a lesser extent.I also get little twitches in that area also.I also get very tight across my back when im up and about, or when i walk around a bit, this is usually only remedied by laying down and resting. I get little twinges in my "new" back that hardly rate a mention, im pretty sure after years of back problems that this is slight facet joint pain.(must be an old age thing..am 43) But on the whole i think my long term prognosis may be OK with ADR, i know with any back surgery you will be "lucky" to remain totally pain free for the rest of your life, this is the nature of the beast, but a reduction in pain in the months ahead (during recovery) i will be glad to accept! Frustration during this recovery time will be my biggest hurdle. Thanks for reading this Vic62 |

Take it steady Vic, its just a matter of time (say 6 months) and you could be well down on the pain stakes.
No Handsprings please or twisting and bending -- - bend at the Knees Please Best Alastair

Vic, you know the drill -- take is slow, as time wounds all heals!?
Seriously, welcome to the other side! What artificial disc and levels did you have done? (You may want to add this to your signature by editing your profile...)
