Red face 50/50 chance of Prodisc-L or Freedom Lumbar Disc

So I just signed up to be a guinea pig for the FDA today. I am pretty nervous. I do not think it has completely set in yet, but I am excited for the possibility to have some pain relief. I will either have the Prodisc-L or the Freedom Lumbar disc, a 50/50 percent chance of either. I will not know which one until the surgery is finished. I haven't picked a date yet..

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and experiences. I feel like my mind is a full blender that has just started without a cover!

Default Nice metaphor...

Welcome, and good job on the mental picture. Very appropriate indeed. And for that I am so sorry.

I am five years post-op and doing well as a former spine patient. But still, I sometimes wonder about the dizzying amounts of info a pre-op patient has to process! That's why we are here, so I hope we can help.

I got into the Charite' trial just before it closed in 2004. My spine is great, thank God! Clinical trials are tricky...read the fine print and demand copies of everything. It's your right.

Any way, what info do you have so far on each of the discs? There is copious amounts of info on each here in this web site. Luckily, the search utility works pretty well.

Let us know how we can help...
