Has anyone been in the Active L trial? Or does anyone have alot of knowledge about the criteria? I ask because I asked my surgeon, who is an investigator in the trial, if I could be a canidate. He said he would check my medical record with the criteria; but thought that my bi-lateral neurotmy would disqualify me. I was just wondering why this would be? Especially since this was nothing more than a shot (so to speak), a couple of needles going in to burn 6 nerves. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi K, I'll dig into this later. In the meantime, this may help answer your question:

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00589797

It contains both the inclusion and exclusion criteria for this specific trial.

And yes, there are many Activ L patients here --sift through the post-op forum and you will see for yourself!

Hi,
I am part of this trail. Very slow recovery. I did have prior surgeries in 99, and 2002, but my surgeon here in Charlotte still accepted me. Based on FDA site, I should have been rejected. Your case is totally different than mine. I will be surprised to see you not approved. Do your research as much as you can.
The site that Harrison gave you is also very helpful.
The device is used in Europe as one of the favorites for ADR. Let me know if I can help you any further.

I agree, they acted like the neurotomy would disqualify me. I don't know how that could be, since Idet is a neurotomy on nerves in the disc and it says the Idet patients are not excluded.

I got an appointment with a different Dr., I did not care for Dr. B, he was NOT personable at all and just rubbed me the wrong way. I can take someone being rude; but if they are going to be rude, they are going to be the one of the best rude a** surgeons there are! I haven't found crap on Dr., so I just don't know enough about him to form opinion, other than his crappy bedside manner.

Looking at the ProDisc-L trial website, are there only two centers (Florida and Connecticut)? I'm interested, but it's a bit far to go from NC for surgery and follow-ups.
Any other information out there?

Texas Back Institute is also a ProDisc Trial site, that is where I am trying to get into the trial. I see the dr. tomorrow.... hopefully it will be good news!
