Ummmmm... for all you head-bangers out there, I wouldn't take this as a blanket statement regarding what you can do after a fusion! Don't go diving into the mosh pits just yet...

After my own fusion, I was told it would be much better to stop jogging and take up biking, and to avoid sports that were too 'jolting' to the spine. I was also encouraged to stay active and build up muscle strength as stated here, but to be careful of my neck in the future.

I don't think we're ever 'as good as' or 'better than' a normal spine after surgery, so I choose to be active, but very careful...
