Default ADR doc in DC/Baltimore?

It hurts my heart tremendously that I am even having to see a surgeon again... got an opinion at Hopkins last year before biacuplasty and obviously before this MVA that gave me new symptoms. Haven't had a repeat discogram yet but probably am headed in that direction. Can barely drive or sit, fortunately my job allows me to be on my feet most of the time and use standing height computers.

I am a physician, relatively young (33), and as I said... do not want to have surgery... but I have had ongoing problems for 2.5 yrs now and have really exhausted all options, including an experimental procedure that worked well but the disc was reinjured when a woman from around the corner just had to use her GPS while driving and rear-ended me

In short... I am totally petrified of having an anterior surgery - know too much I guess you could say. I got a surgical opinion last year and they thought I was a decent enough surgical candidate but gave me a 60-70% chance that I would get "better" - while is actually a tad higher than what I know the literature to say about surgery for discogenic pain.

I want to get at least 2 or 3 opinions, will see the doc at Hopkins again but asking for informal referrals. Will be seeing my pain doc again Tues and would love to have some names to throw at him.

Thanks in advance.

Default probably not eligible for ADR...

saw a surgeon in DC who admittedly isn't the biggest fan of lumbar ADR... he did participate in trials in the past and knows his ****. i have a very suspect allergic history and he told me in no uncertain terms that i would be taking a huge risk having metal put in my lumbar spine - which, i know from my reading here, is a life-threatening risk.

i am NOT NOT NOT a risk taker... am a physician myself and know waaaay too much about weird immunologic phenomenon and already have had a few myself (all allergy or exposure-related, nothing autoimmune).

this guy is very conservative but does think i need an alif. i've spent the past year very aggressively pursuing nonsurgical options. angry as hell. if i have 2 bad levels on my discogram friday --- well i am not prepared for that.

Kebiash was pretty knowledgable over at J. Hopkins. He was my third or fourth opinion.
I would talk to him if I were you..
