"However, that is not what i see at this Board. It looks like there is at least some improvement for everyone who has had ADR ( although the range varies)."
This statement is simply not accurate. |

Bob, I am not sure what you mean....the majority see marked improvement -- even though this may or may not be a statistically valid sample. But this does not mean much to the 14% who may still be suffering.

Rich, maybe I'm just too literal. When someone states 'everyone', and everyone has not experienced some improvement, I see this as inaccurate. I've been accused of being too black and white.
Can we agree that not everyone on this forum has seen improvement after adr? |

I'd have to agree with Bob on this one. I've read cases of people still in much pain post-ADR, and at least one case where the recipient said 'I wish I had never done it', so 'everyone' is inaccurate.
That having been said, the positive post-ADR testimonials do outweigh the negatives, even if the 'perfect result' is still very elusive. Trace |

For me pain was THE motivator for surgery. I lived for years with daily 2-3 pain and spikes to 5-7. When I got to the point that resting pain was 7-8, medicated, had me limiting recreational activites to 1 weekend per month, 3 weeks for recovery, couldn't get dressed standing up and could only walk short distances I decided I had to do something. I never worried much about pathologies or other structures. Personally I would not recommend ANY surgery until life has degraded to the point of being unacceptable, by your measure not somebody elses. The risks are just too high.
Today I am normally 0-3, sometimes higher but it is directly attributed to the life style I choose. My PCP of 25 yrs would like me to slow down, says I've got a second chance, don't screw it up. I suppose I am beginning to consider that advice but havn't found acceptable alternatives to the things I enjoy. I still use pain meds for thorasic pain, t9-10 fractures. My PM doc advises that I just gotta get used to it if I am to keep playing. Don't know if any of that helps you... take what you want and leave the rest. My Doc was Ziegler at TBI. Scott
