Interesting that the policy is related to ADR, but all the studies are for lumbar ADR only.

Aetna is always conservative. I just posted this as a reference. Anyone with ADR is a "Beta tester", but so is a person with a fusion, or any of the available methods. When god decided to do her thing to our spines she left us to figure out how to wriggle out. Some have: like our esteemed Mark, et al. My take is that ADR is on an accelerating efficacy curve and that fusions will diminish to less than 10% and ADR will be 80%-90% with MISS and other diverse methods making up the difference, until bio engineering develops autologous remediation. At least that's my feeling. As Mark reminds: if you're looking at having any of these things done your already in deep doo doo so the idea is to find the best way to get out of it as close to "factory fresh" (our better) as you can.

Good luck to us all!

interesting find. Aetna is the administrator for my companys policy. And the policy (SPD) says experimental is not covered. But they did cover it no questions asked.
