Hi, does anyone know if Artificial Disc Replacement on the NHS in the UK?
My consultant Doctor has just performed a discography, the results being I need a spinal fusion on 2 possibly 3 discs. I have a follow up appointment next week to decide what to do.
I don't have medical insurance, so I am at the mercy of the dreaded NHS. I have 2 small boys to take care of, so a long recovery for me would be impossible, and having read the reports from other people here who have had this surgery, Prodisc in particular I think sounds like a better option....any advice anyone please.

Hi Suzanne,
Yes there are Doctors in the UK that do ADR on the NHS. Please look in the FAQ`s and there is a list there.

Mr Lam at Guys does this - -- you will have to get the OK from your PCT to get this done.

Maybe E mail me for more(click on my name)

Prodisk is ADR just a different prosthesis to Charitee
Click on the link to my story maybe?
Best
Alastair
