Sorry for the abundance of topics, guys, I just have a lot of questions
A few minutes ago I was laying in bed and sneezed and heard a little pop in my back. At first I was freaking out and a little worried that the core popped out or something was seriously messed up, but right now I'm not worried about it. However, should I maybe try to... not sneeze for 6-8 weeks? lol I definetly don't want to do anything to jeopardize my chances of a successful recovery, and if that means plugging my nose when I'm about to sneeze for a couple months, I'm fine with that. Thanks and sorry for the goofy question! |

I think you would be in A LOT of pain if the core poped out Marc. Sneezing will hurt for a while because of the incision... the same with laughing.

Hi Marc,
it would be totally amazing if your disk had popped out by sneezing in bed, and certainly you would probably be in a huge amount of pain this has been discussed before -- -- -- about the sneezing I mean. If you are sat down and sneezing then try and get both feet flat on the floor so there is no twist on your spine. Also if when stood you can feel a sneeze coming on try and remain as upright as possible. Best, Alastair

To make you feel better, my neuro had a patient who was hit head on in a car collision at about 50 mph and his ADR was fine.

Hi Marc,
I think that the probability of this happening is highly unlikely. If it makes you feel even more better -- at about 4-5 days post-op, I was twisted in bed and sneezed. Hurt like h#ll, but both ADRs were okay. Take care and as Alastair says "slow & steady....." Sy, Poncho
