Hello all -- thanks for your email Rich, reminding me to check in. I read the site occasionally, but haven't posted in ages. I feel really guilty saying this, but I just got sick of being sick. As you all know, back pain is an emotional and physical all consuming subject, and I got tired of dealing with it -- I wanted to separate myself from everything back related, and just take a break. I know that's horrible to hear, especially after all the great advice you all gave me, and how many out there still need advice from those of us who have had surgery -- but that's just how I felt. So, my apologizes for not checking in and helping out more often.

Well, I am now 6 months post-op, and I am doing great. I haven't taken pain meds for my back in 4.5 months, and forget about my back until someones asks me how I'm doing. No back, leg or foot pain to speak of!! I still take it pretty easy, no heavy lifting or weird moves. I stretch all the time, and am getting more exercise in as time goes by.

I recently moved from Philly to the beautiful Finger Lakes region of NY state, and the change has been great. Very relaxed here, no traffic jams, mean people or crowded malls. My stress level has gone way down, and I'm a lot closer to friends and family.

So, all in all, life is great and I am still so glad that I got the ADR surgery. Thanks again for being such a great community -- I will check back in more often! SenecaGirl

Wow, such changes! Congrats on feeling better while also making a quality of life change. I am a bit envious, as your new home sounds like a great place to live....

Take care of your self...and especially your spine!

Thanks for checking in, SG. We all need a break from thinking and talking about what ails us from time to time, and when it's over, we umnderstand that it's hard to find the energy to revisit. But those of us still on the road really appreciate your input, and are happy to be able to share our pleasure in your happy outcome!
