CTs and MRIs are heavily obstructed by the artifact of the ADR. That said a skilled and patient technician and/or radiologist can 'throw' the artifact out of the immediate area (the radiologist's description of the practice, not ours) and still image most of the region. You'd still need flat x-rays to check for subsidence or movement of the ADR but we've been able to image the cartilage on the facet joints next to an ADR on Laura.
