Default Decision finally!!! dr. Clavel and a 2 level M6

I wanted to thank all who post on this website and those who have "be friended" me I have finally set a plan in motion. It has been a long process but I feel very comfortable with the decisions I have made.

My husband found out that I am even capable of high end shopping in a surgical setting.

For those of you who are familiar with Barcelona, what neighborhood would you recommend. We will be renting an apt as several family members will be travelimg with me.

I appreciate any travel advice for what you took with you that was useful and how you handled phone to home?

I feel strangely excited to have the surgery and am cautiously optomistic. I have always been an avid athlete and feel encouraged that I may get out of this recliner yet!

congrats on making a decision!! now the fun part - planning!! (i actually love planning...)

i rented an apt through Negre BCN Apartments: Your place to stay in Barcelona

they are about a 10 min cab ride from the airport and very accessible to buses and trains. neighborhood feel but just 1km from paseo de gracia where there's all kinds of shopping.

the only negative to me is that the beds were a bit firm - i'd bring a foam topper as i was unable to find one in BCN.

calling home - i got an international phone from telestial.com -- you get 2 numbers, a US one and a UK one. incoming calls are free on the UK #, and you can have people call you cheaply from the US using a calling card.

i also took a laptop w/ a webcam and used skype a good bit.

feel free to contact me for more details...

make sure you take advantage of the plentiful and yummy fish... all of those good omega-3's and fish oils are good for you!!!

had some really great hake fish at a spot on the beach called aqua - that's where i had my pre-surgery dinner

Laurie, that is wonderful...just over a month away.We will be 5 weeks apart in our recovery.

I am packing today. I live in Canada and am having my surgery a few hours drive away , in Montreal. Will be having a Maverick disc.

All the best with your planning!

Karen

Hey Dingie, so glad you have made your decision. One day in thd future, when we both are enjoying great health with our new discs, we should meet up for a game of tennis !

Default No money left for tennis

I would so love that! i just finished buying airline tickets sending payment for OR and renting an aprtment. We are taking my sister whomis also an RN...my private duty and an 18 year old nephew for language immersion and to see spain.

Good news is I may be able to play tennis again...bad news is I cant afford to restring my raquet! Yipes, so much for redecorating, I should lose lbs due to loss of grocery budget.

Seriously I am so grateful that I am able to go and excited about the future. I dont think I could ever keep up with u on the court but I could take a lesson

Thanks for the warm wishes now it is just a waiting game...

Laurie

your post was pretty funny Laurie, but I think it will be a little way into the future... Maybe watch tennis together first.... the important thing is that we are both looking towards a positive future (at least some of the time )

It sounds like you are turning your barcelona trip into a family affair and positive experience, and it is great you have the right people around you especially with a medical background. All the best...and have a great time making fun plans for the trip !
