Red face Bone Density

Hello Steve,
Did you have a bone density test done? If not, I may pursue one now if I were you. I hope this all turns out well for you in the end. I am very sorry that you may have to make another trip and spend more money. I am in a similar situation with the return trip and the additional spending. This time for an additional level though, not a revision. We all know that this is a possibility going in... you just never figure that it will actually happen to you.

The single keel was the original design - top and bottom were single keel.

Best of luck to you.
Maybe I will see you there

July 31, 2006 Surgery successfully completed Prodisc-C C5/C6 on in Straubing, Germany by Dr. Bertagnoli. Able to work full time since 1 month post op, but some pain remains.
10/2008 3 surgeons confirm C6/C7 needs ADR and always has.
Has anyone had a second ADR surgery on an adjacent level?

Steve,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with one of your new discs. I certainly hope you can negotiate for a "no charge" revision surgery. I would also ask the medical tour guide to pay for the travel expenses for the revision. You've been through enough and laid your trust in their hands.

I was given a contract of sorts after my surgery. Any problems with the discs is covered at no charge (except for travel expenses). I would hope your surgeon will step up and give you all considerations in your difficult time.

Good luck to you Steve. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Bob

Default Bad prodisc

I have had the same problem as you. My x-ray looked the same as your bottom disc. I was recently told by a different surgeon that the prodisc is not suppose to open like a book and he told me that this was a mechanical failure of the disc. I have just undergone a fusion last week after a year and a half of suffering to fix the problem. I wish you all the best and hope that this helps with a little more info for you. Nettie

Neck problems started in 11/07. Herniated disc C5/C6. 6 weeks phys therapy. Severe shoulder/ arm pain. 4 injections. ADR surgery 5/9/2008 C5/C6. Pain worsens. 15 months later, 2 MRIs, a myelogram, 8 facet type injections, 3 months phys therapy, every drug, 12 doctors. Finally a DR. to say ADR put in incorrectly and disc itself mechanically failed. Back to surgery on 8/11/09 for a fusion. Hope this IS the answer. Will let you know.

Default Your crooked spine

I too have the same weirdness going on in my lumbar spine. Dr. Delamarter has had to reassure me every time I go see him...for 5 years now. That I have scoliosis (curvature of the spine). He said that I can leave it alone, since it causes no symptoms. I have no pain. It is not the end plate sinking into the bone. I can't think about it too much or it freaks me out. I will try to post my films on here.
