Default Every time I try to leave, they keep pulling me back in....

Hi all, it has been a long time since my last post. To everyone who reached out to me thank you. For those who I haven't officially responded too, please know I am sorry. So here is my story. I was supposed to go to see Dr. Bertagnoli this past July. Well I just couldn't wrap my head around ADR and then went for another dicectomy. Found a good neurosurgeon in the south and went for it. Well, after the surgery I got a staph infection, thankfully it was the non resistant infection. After a week and a half in the hospital, I got out and had to do IV treatments for 6 weeks. Now to the surgery part, to make a long story short, it didn't take. My L5S1 has re-herniated, I can't really bend backwards, and don't even get me started on sneezing and coughing. ADR here I come! Hindsight huh???? I do not believe I will be going to Germany though, I have decided to send my exams to Boree over in the UK(did it today and now waiting to hear from them). Really want the M6-L, my only concern really is that my facet won't allow me to have ADR, if not, fusion here we go. I was surprised to see how well my L4/5 looked on the MRI so maybe they will hold off there. Anyways there is my story. Oh almost forgot, my wife lost our 2nd child at 11 weeks during this whole debacle. What a 3 months!!!! Well after all that, ADR has to work for me, right? If anyone could send me their thoughts on Boree, good or bad, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for listening. Also, please excuse my grammar and spelling. I really ain't that smart

Sorry to hear of the problems you have been having the most for loss of a child. As for the failed disectomy, I to tried it the first lasted a while the redo didn't last long at all. I hear good things about Dr Boree you should tall with Vicki about her experience with him. My self I went to Clavel in Spain and had a two level Adr done. I hope life truly gets better for you, take care and god bless

Jstuckey and I were both with Boeree. I'm sure you've seen our surgical outcome posts.
Don't let us convince you, speak to him yourself.
He gets ALOT of emails but he will get back to you.
We had alot of good conversations with Jo too if you want to phone them.
Its very cheap to call them using Skype.
Jo is his PA.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your child.
That's one more angel in heaven
Its hard to look at it this way but it takes a bit of the pain away to think of a higher place.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Default Question

If you believe -- feel -- that you have health problems going on in your body that are not being diagnosed, please, by all means, seek out people (friends, family, docs, books, web sites) and learn about these areas of weakness. They may be the source of your spine problems -- or not.

After all, your immune system is the true "spine" of your health. As I learn more about the body, I believe that much of our energy is centered around our spine. Perhaps this is why pathologies settle there -- I've read about this many times over in different books and in different countries. Older, retired docs in any country will tell you this.

I am sorry for your suffering. In my long journey to health, I found the "not knowing" the worst part of the path to wellness!

Get outside the system! Ask questions!

So sorry for all of your loss. Seems like it always hits at once. I had a similar year once...miscarriage, cancer. It's hard and exhausting. Keep your support group tight around you, keep moving forward and learning, be good to yourself, and you'll get through it.
Had a hybrid with Mr Boeree 7 weeks ago. My facets were mildly deteriorated at the L4-5 level (got an M6), and moderate at the L5-S1 level (STALIF fusion - rockin type of fusion vs. what the fusions done here in my opinion....not at all the same!). Would be happy to answer any questions. The phone consultation is the best money you'll ever spend whether you go with him or not.

Oh my goodness! My condolences on the loss of your child. As bad as any back pain issues have been for me in my life, I'm pretty sure a miscarriage would rock my world even worse! I know how nervous I was myself in those first 12 weeks. I hope your wife is doing at least ok after dealing that. A close friend of mine had a miscarriage at the end of the summer at a time when my own pregnancy was the big news in my group of friends. The hurt was visible even though she was trying really hard not to put a damper on all the excitement and urge for everyone to talk about my own pregnancy. I know they plan on trying again in the new year and I'm already crazy excited and looking forward to hearing good news from them!

Can't really comment on the physician piece of this since my own surgery was state-side. I don't think I've seen much in negative comments on Dr Boeree though, but I will admit that I've had to wander in and out of lurking around here this year. I do hope that you get good news from Dr. Boeree and can truly get on the path to recovery. *fingers crossed for you!*
