Well, it looks like Dr. Delamarter is going to release me to full duty status on June 13th. My PT will end on the first week of June. That will be 6 weeks of PT, three times a week.
My PT consists of lifting, streching, stregthing and cardio. I'm very excited to be active again. I get to ride my motorcycle do yard work, wash the cars, clean house(yeah, like thats a bonus) and not be scared of being immoble for a week. I'll keep everyone updated on what kind of work the City will put me back on... |

Congrats Paul!
You have made a great recovery in more way then one way! I am glad you get to go back to full duty but PLEASE....PLEASE.... say away from the jackhammer OK. There are just some things you have to delegate to those people with real discs not 3 artificial ones. Your support has met a lot to me and I can't wait to meet you when I'm in LA soon for my turn. God Bless P

Thanks alot Paulette. I'm going to try to stay away from the jackhammer... Right now I feel very blessed to have a job. It's been almost 21 months since I've been to full duty. Yes I went back for a few months here and there after my Epiderals but never longer than three months.
It is always nice to talk with you. I look forward to meeting you in person also. Thanks for being my friend. |

Pablo,
I second Paulette's suggestion regarding the jackhammer. I also feel that heavy lifting must also be avoided as much as possible. I know that the impression is that you are "recovered" however, the spine's weakness has shown itself once - we don't want it to repeat that...

Hola Pablocruise ( I want to add mobile after cruise for some reason)..
Anyway, yes... me too, 2nding the motion, comotion and so on re no jackhammering my dear spinally recovered friend! Glad to hear you were released to full duty... how many times do we hear that after spinal problems of your significance? Not too often in the past tho maybe much more now with ADR~ What I'm really trying to say is that it's great, beyond great that you've made such a recovery so just stay that way~ whatever it takes or doesn't take!!! Thanks for your concern Poncho and Mariaa. I've been thinking about that jackhammer. I just told my supervisor that I am interested in getting my old job back. I think he is going to put me in a rotation with the concrete crew and asphalt crew. I talked to the guy that is doing the sign maint. job now and he says he doesn't mind if I go back to the sign job. I really like doing the traffic dept.
Dr. Delamarter says that he will work with me and to let him know if I can't handle doing the job. So that's good that he is willing to work with me and not just cut me lose. |

I hope you're counting your blessings which I sure you do. Not many people w/three-levels are doing as great as you are. Wonder what Dr. D. thinks of your returning to jackhammering?!

Well folks, it looks like it was a false alarm... Sorry, I guess the city wants to be safe and wants me to wait another month. Oh well, more PT for me.
