Hello everyone, I'm considering ADR (for c5-c7). Can anyone recommend surgeons specializing in ADR in the New York area? I found someone at Beth Israel's Spine Institute, and another doctor at the NYU Center for Joint diseases, but who is well known for ADR in the area?

Hi Chris,
I believe DR Fabien Bitan is in Manhattan (not sure). At any rate, if you check out this topic from the FAQ and follow the link at the bottom of the page, you should get some NY addresses: http://adrsupport.org/eve/forums/a/t...1/m/3431000181 Good luck, fellow cervie. Trace |

Thanks, Trace! I found some good info on Bitan, and other names. It seems like these guys in NYC are mostly doing the Charite, not sure how I feel about that, but still sounding better than the fusion...

I met Dr. Goldstein briefly in Berlin, I believe he is doing ProDisc and perhaps others as well. Many of his patients have posted here...

Chris:
You posted a question on another post about insurance. I had 4 level ADR in November of 06 at Stenum Hospital in Germany and Blue Cross Michigan covered the whole procedure. They early on denied it but, I believe, the costs were much cheaper than if I would have been fused in the States and chose to pay it. I have the Prestige Cervical discs and am pleased so far. Dr. Goldstein is one I'm looking into now. In fact, I've been trading calls with his nurse practitioner to find out which disc he uses before I go in, so good to know ProDisc. This is great, thanks.
Anyone else have advice on Dr. Goldstein? |

I had surgery with Dr. Jeffrey Goldstein if that is the Dr. Goldstein that you are enquiring about.
Feel free to PM and I will offer some of my experiences with him. Sandi

I have C6-C7 ADR planned for next Monday with Arash Emami. He is based in NJ, but has an office in Manhattan. I am very impressed with him and his partner, Ki Hwang. I was also seeing a Dr from NYU, Joseph Dryer who highly recommended Emami. He did the first ADR in NJ. He was trained by Medtronic for the Prestige disc.
