I have had recent consultations with Dr. Bertagnoli who recommended an artifical disc. Initially he wanted to implant the prodisc but i had asked him about the m6 disc. He was actually in favor of using the LP-ESP artificial disc. Here is some more information about it:

That disc looks very interesting; part M6 and part Mobi. It looks like it's designed to cushion axial compression, and allow natural motion in all directions; which is a decided improvement over most ADR devices. I couldn't determine from reading the presentation if it became progressively more resistant to rotation as it rotates. Did Dr Bertagnoli's office suggest how large of an install base this device currently has? I've seen x-rays of ADRs that have subsided, but that was the first x-ray I've seen of one that migrated. Not a pretty site. Good luck, Jeff
