Hi,

What if your ligaments are damaged and you had ADR? As far as I know damaged ligaments don't always show up on MRI's, etc.

I had prolotherapy on my back, but wonder if that actually damaged ligaments? Noone ever knows about some of these treatments.

If you really think or are sure your ligaments are compromised, I'd nail that down before thinking about ADR. The ADR will have almost no resistance to twisting, torsional movement. All of them are, after all, essentially a ball turning in a socket. Your torsional rigidity after ADR comes from your soft tissue, ligaments, muscles, tendons, that hold the spine together. Before ADR, the disc itself provided some rigidity, though I don't know how much. If you have any mechanical engineering background, I could speculate more on that in a PM. If you were to go into ADR with damaged ligaments, I could see how that could lead to long-term problems with facets at that level.

On the other hand, prolotherapy isn't supposed to damage the ligaments at all and theoretically should have strengthened them.
