Medtronic Prestige at c6-c7 level experiences?

I have been reading here for the last couple weeks and it is incredible that the knowledge I have gained through this site. I just recently got approval for my ADR and will be scheduling my surgery daye in the near future. I was amazed that I was approved on the first attempt after reading some of the horror stories here concerning insurance.

My situation is a herniation at c6-c7 that I have been living with for over 2 years. I'm not in pain every day (luckily), but enough that it has hampered my life style, and I take anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and vicodin on a regular basis. The MRI shows a minimal central herniation at c4-c5 which has remained unchanged through the last two years. It also shows that there has been interval development of a small left paracentral herniation at c5-c6.

After reading all the stories here, and of course talking to the neuro I have elected to go with the ADR at c6-c7 in hopes that c5-c6 will not get any worse. Looking for opinions as to what some of you experts might do if this was your situation? All comments /help/ advice will be appreciated. Once again thank you everyone for sharing your personal stories and knowledge.

Just checked this post and read the first post above (Bridgett) and a person with the activ-C wrote about the surgical experience and recovery. ADRSuppport.org is not an ordered database of surgical outcomes, like they have in Europe, Spine Tango, or the Swedish Spine Surgery Registry (but, the US doesn't have a spinal surgery outcomes database?).

"Find" on this forum's menu bar works. "Advanced find" is like several professional publications, Spine, European Spine Journal, The Spine J., ...

Live.com works, gave US FDA Clinical Trial results as the first result, so ...

It's an individual response to each surgery, but can become an outcome analysis some days in making the decision reading about different results. Thank you for posting, asking, take care

I am one year almost five months with 4 level ADR surgery and still doing well. I have my moments but think I am doing well considering what major surgery this was. I have not missed a day of work since going back t months after surgery.
