Hello All,

Again my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who has had me in their thoughts and prayers. I thought it was needful to let everyone know how I am doing.

Three days ago I felt led again to stop the MS contin. As I was suffering ill effects. I had tried this many times before but without success. The pain was so overwhelming as if I was just immediately post op. However, three days ago I stopped, I have not had horrible leg and foot pain! Is this a mirage or a calm before the storm? I hope it is for real.

To many times this has happened all to my dispair. My wife says she is amazed and that I have become the energizer bunny! Going her going there at lightening speed. I get tired and yes pain creeps in, but I'll welcome that if it goes away quick.

Please keep up the prayers! I still have the occlusion to deal with. Next Thursday I go to UCLA with my new PPO insurance and meet my surgeon to begin the process for this all too important surgery.

This is a tough one and very intensive. I think the hospital outline says 7 days in the hospital and the first 2 in ICU. Then if all is well I come home to recovery for 2 months or so. If this is it and I do well then if God willing, I will be free and hipping and hopping like the real energizer bunny.

My best to all of you spiney folks and I hope that you find relief too.

Willie
Ps; Three weeks ago I was hospitalized due to five continuous days of vomiting. I was hospitalized and they found I had a colon blockage due to my ischemic colon (from the occlusion) inaddition I was diagnosed with claudstrium difficle a very nasty colon infection. I was isolated and put on serious anti-bodtics. Now I am doing great, maybe that is why I was so tired, dizzy, nauseated and feeling poorly. Now I feel so much better.
Pss; For others with similar symptoms go to your PCP and get checked for this or other bacterial infections.

Hi Mr. Bee,

It is good to see you posting! I have been following your case, but haven't posted much. I certainly hope that the lack of need of pain medication this time around means you are rounding the corner spiney wise. Sorry to hear about the vascular occulusion causing you multiple problems and the C- diff infection. Glad to hear that the antibiotic therapy worked for that (flagyl - I assume). Hopefully, they can open up this vascular occlusion with a stent or bypass so that we can see you hipping and hopping at one of the conferences some day soon.

Take care and know that your case and your willingness to share it has helped many out there.

Sincerely,
Poncho

Hi Poncho,

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it was Flagyl. That pill is so foul tasting I thought it was better being blocked up by my colon! It worked and am I glad!

I tested both ankle's with a blood pressure monitor yesterday. My right ankle/leg is 140/89, my left errored out three times. So that tells me the occlusion is still there. My left leg has been feeling pretty well. I did have some pain last night and took 2 hydrocodone 10/325 with visteril and an elavil pill. I felt better.

That is the first pills I have taken in three days so I am still very happy.

Willie

7 days and counting down
