I first met Willie Beeson last year in August, just before we both were to undergo ADR at Stenum hospital in Germany. We both went into the hospital on the same day to do the testing needed prior to our operations. I'd say we both were scared, but at the same time looking forward to an end to our suffering with back and leg pain. We had our surgeries, did well, then had problems. We both went back to Stenum in October for revision and repair surgeries. The last time I saw Willie in Germany in October, he was leaving for California and looked terrible, was in serious pain and was also in serious condition. It was a tearful goodbye for me, because I didn't know if I would ever see him again. I feared he wouldn't even live through his trip home, he was in such bad shape. Willie did make it home, but he has had a number of serious problems - however, he and I have remained in contact through email and over the phone.
Last weekend, we met up in the mts. of Northern New Mexico. When I laid eyes on Willie, I could hardly believe what I saw. Willie looks ten years younger than he did before he went into surgery for his ADR! He is leaner, has better color and just overall looks healthier. My husband and I stayed in a lodge about 1/2 mile from Willie's campsite and Willie stayed in his camper. Willie did all the work setting up, leveling, blocking, etc. his camper himself with no apparent pain. This is a man who just a few short months ago couldn't walk 100 feet without assistance. Willie and I and our two dogs took a mile hike up the Jicarilla mt. We went off trail for half of the hike, crossed a meadow and then met with the trail and headed down to the campsite for the remainder. Willie was fine and didn't slow down or complain one bit - the complaining came from me...My husband spent each afternoon climbing the mts. on his mountain bike or hiking up to the glacier lakes. Way more than Willie (cured or not) or I were up to.
Willie pointed out to me that his miracle recovery has nothing to do with Stenum's surgeons, but instead was a healing from God. Willie prayed for healing and received it. I've never met anyone cured through prayer before and I have to admit I was skeptical, that is until I saw him. Absolutely amazing!
We had a terrific visit over the weekend in a beautiful setting in the Carson National Forest. Willie's faith and attitude certainly boosted my own spirit. I wanted to share this. Carmont

Carmen, thanks for the great post. Willie's story is truly incredible. I wish I could have seen your meeting... must have been very tearful and full of joy. It's so great that you were able to get together. My best to you, Dave, Willie and Darla. I hope we can meet again too!

Mark

Carmont,

It was you and Willie who recommended Mark to me for which I can never thank you enough. Willie explained his problems and to say the least, I was shocked at the lack and quality of medical care he received. I am so relieved to hear he is doing better and thank you for the update.

Wishing you both the best,
Dale

Wow. Thanks for posting this. I was wondering how he was doing. I knew he said he was doing great but didn't know if that was still the case. This looks like one of those cases of no news is good news

I've been in this part of NM and it's glorious. What a way to celebrate a Gift.

When I hear such news I can't help but smile and feel so grateful that his life has been turned around in such a miraculous way. Faith and hope are key, I think, to traversing the many peaks and valleys we've all experienced in our journey through pain. Thank you for sharing. Connie V.
