Default MRI after ADR surgery

Does anyone know if it's possible to have an MRI with an ADR (Charite)? I seem to be having an issue with the disk above mine and the pain mgmt doctor is sending me for an MRI. I think that I remember that the magnets wouldn't work on the machine. I can't really remember since it's been almost 8 years since my surgery.

For sure, the MRI protocol can be "tuned" to properly image the area without causing too many artifacts. We've talked about this quite a bit; here's one of many topics:

MRI after ADR

Hope this helps!?

Default MRI or not?

ADRJen,

I had an MRI recently, 6 years after getting an ADR at C6-7 by Dr B in Germany. My Knoxville doc said he couldn't see anything and since he doesn't do thorasic surgery he pretty much blew me off. Dr Yue in New Haven said to get the CT Scan with Mylegram. Now I just gotta find a doc in TN with ADR experience who will do mylegram and give me an intelligent opinion or I will go back to Dr Yue.

If you're trying to see things at the level with the ADR, CT myleogram is the best bet. If you wish to look for things away from the level with an ADR, an MRI will work. Ann, It sounds like your biggest problem is the Knoxville doc wouldn't engage enough to even think through what he wanted and what technique would work for you
