Default Multilevel ADR in the USA

Has anyone had multilevel ADR surgery in the United States?? I had a 2 level cervical ADR in Germany 10/2009 and am very pleased with the result. Now I am having back problems and if ADR is the best solution, I would rather have it done in the US. None of the hospital web sites I have visited suggest multilevel ADR is performed in US.

Rayjkid,

Condolences on the condition, and welcome.

I don't know about hospital web sites, but can tell you that multilevel ADR is commonly performed in the US. During an insurance appeal, part of my exhaustive research was to find spine surgeons that performed multilevel ADR. I picked up the phone and called all spine surgeons in my zip code that were contracted with my insurance carrier. I was pleasantly flabbergasted to discover that in excess of 50% of them performed multilevel ADR, and that of the ones that did perform ADR that in excess of 85% of them did multilevel.

So, that you don't see multilevel highlighted on the web site is not an indication that they that is a procedure which they don't perform.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Jeff

Smile

Rayjkid I just had a multilevel ADR done on December 27th 2010 at Cedars Sinai in California. I am not healed from surgery yet but the pain I have is in the stomach since they went through there. The back pain I have right now feels totally different from what I had before surgery.I think it is just from them removing discs and putting new ones in.It will take a while to heal completely I'm sure. If ya have any other questions just ask I will help with what I can.
