Hello All,

On Saturday I'll be boarding the plane that takes me to Germany, to Dr. Bertagnoli in Bogen, and to a "new & improved" neck.

I'll be grateful for any last-minute words of advice or encouragement, and especially for the concerns of other cervies (so I can think about them as I'm jouraling and tell about them later).

All the requirements and details kept me busy until yesterday. As soon as I realized I'd handled them all, my sense of time shifted ... wow! after all this time it's just a few days away! I'm excited ... and a lot of other things I can't describe just yet.

My appreciation to you all, for helping me get to this point. I'm taking the plunge ... see me? ... here I go-o-o--o--o---o---o!

Jenni,
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for safe travel and a successful surgery. One of my favorite items post-surgery is a CD or mp3 player. You may be too medicated to read, but the music is so soothing. Best wishes!

Jenni,
Best of luck, as a fellow cervie who hasn't had the courage to go under the knife yet, I'll be looking forward to watching your story unfold. It looks like you'll be in the best of hands and with all our thoughts and prayers with you, I'm sure you'll be posting soon.

Jenni,

So cool you posted this yesterday, as I was just thinking that your time was near. Im with Crystal my MP3 was my "favorite thing" I down loaded Lance Armstrong Every Second Counts Here is a quote from his book to encourage you these next few months.

Suffering, I was beginning to think, was essential to a good life. Its a great enhancer. It might last a minute, or a month, but eventually it subsides, and when it does, something else takes its place, and maybe that thing is a greater space for happiness. Each time I encountered suffering, I believed that I grew, and further defended my capacities-not just my physical ones, but my interior ones as well, for contentment, friendship, or any other human experiences. The real reward for pain is this: self knowledge.

As you embark on this extraordinary experience may happiness fill you up as your suffering disappears.

Keep us posted and God Bless
