1. Break up tasks into short sessions. Little and often is the key.

2. Plan your days to get a good balance of activities throughout the day.

3. Don't load all your activities on to one part of the day or on to one day of the week.

4. Vary your posture and change position often: sit/stand/move around/exercise/walk.

5. Alternate heavy tasks with light tasks.

6. Change between repetitive movements, like typing, and non-repetitive movements, such as dusting or filing.

7. Arrange rest breaks throughout the day.

This is in the FAQ`s as well folks
Best

Well you should be OK if you have given yourself a bit more time -- - its still early days since your surgery -- - maybe listen to your body a bit more?
Best

Good advice Alastair!
I would also add: follow your doctor's and your therapist's directions. Just because you feel terrific one day, doesn't mean you are miraculously healed. I discovered that even lifting small objects at an awkward angle can set your recovery back a few days.

Alastair, that is great advice which very much applies to cervical patients as well. It has been nine months and I still follow all of the above guidelines, if I do too much in one day I pay for it the next few days.

This is one of the HARDEST things to do.

You have had surgery - - - -you feel good

You feel you could conquer the world

You need to restrain yourself and wait

It DOES usually make an excellent recovery for patients
